Oyedepo Saving Nigeria Education With 2 New Universities

Bishop David Oyedepo already owns two high performing universities but is already building two more. This is good news, especially with the acute shortage of tertiary academic institutions in Nigeria.

Nigeria is set to witness the birth of two more private universities, thanks to Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide.
Oyedepo had during his 60th birthday celebration announced that two of the universities he plans to add to his chain are already being constructed in undisclosed locations.
Bishop Oyedepo already owns Covenant University, Ota and Landmark University which are doing quite well if the International Colleges and Universities (ICU)'s 2014 rankings of Nigerian Universities are anything to go by.
Accrding to the list released by ICU on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara, and Covenant University are the 5th and 6th best in Nigeria, ahead of Premier Universities like Ahmadu Belllo University, University of Benin.
Covenant University is also one of the 58 Nigerian universities approved by  the National Universities Commission (NUC) to run postgraduate programmes.
Thank You Bishop
In a country where as many as 105,000 students applied for admission into the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) which has 9,000 spots available while another 60,000 applied to the University of Benin in the same academic session, it is obvious that there is an acute scarcity of tertiary institutions.
Student Pulse also reported the pilgrimage of Nigerian students to Ghana, spending over N160 billion annually as tuition fees, more than Nigeria's annual budget for education.
Students have to jostle for admission slots, even before they have to worry about prohibitive costs.
This is the reason why Bishop Oyedepo's university chain is a form of deliverance for Nigerian Education.
Surely, a few more Nigerians will have their dreams of a degree facilitated when the new universities are completed.
