25-Year-Old Man Rapes 3-Year-Old Girl

A 25-year-old man, Kayode Akanni has been arrested by the men of Ogun State Police Command attached to the Ayetoro Division for raping a three-year-old girl.

Punch reports that the suspect, Kayode a resident of Pedepo Village in Ayetoro was said to have raped his victim after tricking her into his room, damaging her private parts in the process.

The state Police Public Relations officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident said that the suspect was exposed as a result of the injuries he inflicted on the girl.

Following the discovery, Adejobi said the girl’s parents reported the matter to the police which led to the prompt arrest of the suspect.

Adejobi said the  suspect confessed to the crime saying: “During police interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect tricked the young and innocent baby into his room by telling her to bring to him a bunch of keys outside the room.

“It was after that he had unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl.

“The suspect has confessed to the crime, while the victim has been taken to hospital for treatment.”

Adejobi said the commissioner of police, Mr. Ikemefuna Okoye, has ordered the case be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta for thorough investigation.

Adejobi said the command would carry out thorough investigation and perfect prosecution of the matter, as such would deter people from engaging in such barbaric act.
