Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd)
With the incessant attacks by the Boko Haram sect, the General Overseer, Kingdom of the Love Church of Christ in Lagos State, Prophet Felix Oluyemi has urged Northern leaders to initiate dialogue with Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, in order to end insurgency in the North.
Prophet Oluyemi, who addressed
journalists on the state of the nation, in preparation to mark his
ministry’s 20th anniversary, said the war against terrorism would end
with the intervention of northern leaders.
He said: “The Emirs of Sokoto and Kano,
Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd), Gen. Abdusallam Abubakar (retd) Gen.
Muhammadu Buhari (retd) and Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, among others must
come together and seek ways of reaching out to their sons in the sect.
“As elders and leaders of the North,
they are the ones that can appeal to their sons to end this insurgency.
As leaders, they are the ones that can get information on how best to
talk to Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau. Getting across to Shekau and
appealing to him does not make them members of the sect. When there was
Oodua Peoples Congress crisis in the South-West, Yoruba elders
including the Ooni of Ife, intervened and called their sons to order.”
The dreaded Boko Haram sect have continued to carry out several attacks in the North, which has left thousands dead and several other injured and displaced from their homes.
