Alhaji Muhammadu Nadande, the Chief Imam of Kutufare village in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto state, has passed away.
The remains of the cleric who drowned on September 4, has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
His demise was described as great loss to his family and also the entire state.
In a related development, six members of a family, two women and four
children reportedly died in Awilkiti village of Gudu Local Government
Area of the state.
They were said to have died as a result of suspected food poisoning.
Condoling with the family, a delegation of the state government led
by Lands and Housing Commissioner, Alhaji Nasiru Dantsoho described the
deaths as a great loss.
Also commiserating with the family, the Caretaker Chairman of the
local government council, Alhaji Musa Bachaka, donated N20,000 cash and
two bags each of rice and millet to them, the News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN) reports.
