PDP Removes Southwest Chairman

Filani, who was accused by the zonal executive of running a one-man administration refused to call meetings, contrary to the provisions of the party’s constitution. He was also accused of not carrying the members along in the running, finance and other statutory issues of the zone.


According to the statement issued by the committee, the meeting was held in line with Section 27: 3 & 4 of the party’s constitution, which empowers the two-third majority of the members to convene a meeting.

The Southwest zonal executive committee also called on President Goodluck Jonathan to make his 2015 intention public, and promised to give him all the needed support. The committee congratulated the people of Ekiti state, the party as well as the Governor-elect, Dr. Ayo Fayose.

The committee also congratulated Osun State gubernatorial candidate Senator Iyiola Omisore, on the significant success recorded in the August 9th, 2014 governorship election in the state, a
of the zone’s support to reclaim its mandate at the tribunal.When contacted for reaction, the ousted chairman said he did not know how the committee came to the conclusion, saying;

“I was not at the meeting. I don’t know how they came to that conclusion.”

The signatory to the statement include the Secretary, Chief Adepegba Otemolu; the Women Leader, Chief Wunmi Osinroluke-Euba; the Financial Secretary, Otunba Banji Obasanmi and the Publicity Secretary, Waheed Lawal, a lawyer.
Meanwhile, there are strong indication that President Goodluck Jonathan will before October this year officially declare his ambition for the  2015 presidential election, while it is also been speculated that Buhari was ready to declare under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as well as former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, who is expected to declared his intention for  the country’s highest office for the fourth time on Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
